Deco-Pak combines innovation with a transparent, sustainable response to industry cost pressures

As Deco-Pak continues to invest in new product development for the 2026 season, the business is demonstrating how innovation, sustainability and transparency can work together to support garden retailers in a challenging trading environment.

With cost pressures continuing to impact the landscaping and garden retail sector, Deco-Pak’s focus is on developing solutions that not only drive sales but also help customers operate more efficiently and sustainably.

A key example is the launch of Gravel Glue, supported by a new eco-friendly houseplant FSDU, manufactured from recycled plastic bubble board using consumer waste diverted from landfill. Designed to integrate seamlessly within existing plant displays, the stand maximises retail impact while taking up minimal floor space – helping garden centres increase sell-through without adding unnecessary cost or complexity in-store.

This approach reflects a broader strategy at Deco-Pak, which combines commercially relevant products with smarter merchandising and sustainable materials, while maintaining an open and transparent dialogue with customers around the realities of cost across the supply chain.

Craig Hall, Director at Deco-Pak, said: “There’s no question that costs have increased across the board, from haulage to production and everything in between. That’s an industry-wide reality, and one we all have a responsibility to manage properly.

“For us, innovation plays a key role in that. It’s about creating products and retail solutions that genuinely help our customers drive sales and use space more efficiently, so they can offset pressures in a practical way. Alongside that, we believe in being clear and upfront. If costs change, we communicate early and explain why. If there are surcharges, they are applied transparently. That level of openness is what builds trust and allows our customers to plan with confidence.

“Short-term solutions can provide immediate relief, but it’s important as an industry that we don’t lose sight of long-term sustainability. Suggesting these pressures can simply be absorbed or engineered away indefinitely doesn’t reflect the full picture. At Deco-Pak, our focus is on taking a balanced, responsible approach – combining innovation with transparency to support long-term success for both our business and our customers.”

By aligning product development with a clear and honest approach to cost management, Deco-Pak is positioning itself as a long-term partner to garden retailers, focused not just on immediate gains, but on building a more sustainable and resilient future for the sector.
