Hillier Nurseries wins International Grower of the Year

The Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) has congratulated its members, Hillier Nurseries, on winning the prestigious International Grower of the Year Award 2026, and Henil Vashi of Robin Tacchi Plants on winning Young International Grower of the Year 2026.

The event, which is organised by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), was held at IPM Essen in Germany on 27 January and hosted by Michael Perry, Mr Plant Geek – an ambassador for the HTA.

HTA member Hillier Nurseries is one of the UK’s leading ornamental plant growers. Following their success at the HTA Grower of the Year Awards 2025, Hillier Nurseries entered the international competition that recognises innovation, sustainable practices, and excellence in the global horticultural industry.

In addition to winning the industry-coveted “Gold Rose” and becoming International Grower of the Year, Hillier Nurseries also picked up awards in the Finished Plants & Trees category and the Sustainability category.

Adam Dunnett, Production and Amenity Director at Hillier Nurseries, said: “This is one of the most remarkable days of my life. I’m very proud of the team at Hillier Nurseries and I’m proud to be part of this amazing industry. To win International Grower of the Year and be recognised in this way is a real testament to the skill, dedication and care of our teams across the business, who work tirelessly every day to produce the highest quality plants and trees. From propagation through to delivery, their expertise and commitment underpin everything we do. It’s an honour to be named alongside so many outstanding growers from around the world, and we couldn’t be prouder of our people and what they achieve together.”

Henil Vashi from HTA member Robin Tacchi Plants won AIPH’s Young International Grower of the Year award, which celebrates exceptional young professionals who are redefining what leadership looks like in modern ornamental horticulture. Henil entered the competition after previously winning the HTA Young Grower of the Year award.

Pippa Greenwood, Horticulture Manager at the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA), said: “I’m absolutely thrilled for Hillier Nurseries and for Henil… not just one award but three for Hillier Nurseries and the top prize for Henil as well. Both are well deserving of their awards, and it proves that the work of growers in the UK is world-class. As the HTA’s Horticulture Manager, I am delighted that two of our award winners are now also recognised at an international level. Outstanding achievements and another win for UK horticulture… Congratulations!”

Entries are now open for the 2026 HTA Grower of the Year Awards. For more details about the awards and how to enter, visit: hta.org.uk/goty
