Fiskars, one of the UK’s leading gardening tool suppliers, is teaming up with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) for an innovative spring campaign designed to support the nation’s vital bee population and provide additional business building opportunity for trade retailers.

The ‘Gift for the Bees’ is a further extension of Fiskars’ well established 100% Happiness marketing campaign and will run from 1st March until 30th June 2021*. During these dates, consumers spending £50 or more on any Fiskars product in store can claim a ‘Happy Bee Box’ delivery to their home.

The box contains RHS expert information about the type of planting in the garden that will help attract and support bees as they pollinate plants. It also includes a high-quality Fiskars planting trowel, which is new for 2021, a packet of RHS seeds and an RHS planting guide offering expert advice on how to support bees and successfully grow pollinating plants.

The campaign is supported by eye-catching point of sale materials to help participating retailers promote in store, as well as provide an exciting consumer-focused offer that will once again help the trade as winter days turn to spring sunshine.

Planting happiness

The 100% Happiness campaign is based on the beneficial effects gardening can have on physical and mental wellbeing, and centres on promoting gardening as a welcome escape from busy, stressful lives, in addition to a way of helping people relax and find more happiness. This has proven to be more important than ever over the past year as consumers have had to spend more time at home due to impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Looking out for bees at the RHS Family Trails

The exciting bee theme is also planned to extend to Fiskars’ sponsorship of the popular Family Trails that will be available at two RHS shows during 2021 – events pending. The trails take families on a fun packed tour for all ages as they search for bees, plants, and other gardening attractions.

All being well, the Family Trails will be at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival taking place between the 5th and 11th July, and the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park between 21st and 25th July. Further details can be found at

Georgina Taylor, Fiskars Marketing Manager UK, comments: “We are delighted to have joined forces with the RHS on the next stage of our 100% Happiness campaign. All gardeners appreciate the importance of the bee population and it is essential that we do all we can to look after them. The highly informative tips from the RHS can guide garden enthusiasts to help them plant for pollination, and the inclusion of a packet of RHS seeds within the Happy Bee Box is a great way to get consumers started.

“It is very important we continue to support our trading partners as the days become longer, the weather improves, and consumers look to get out into gardens even more. With the added incentive of knowing that the gifted Happy Bee Box will provide the information and tools to help make a positive impact on the country’s bee population, we hope that the Gift for the Bees spring campaign can provide an excellent business building boost for our retail partners.”

Helen Bostock, Senior Horticultural Advisor for RHS, says: “From seasoned gardeners to those new to the joys of gardening, so many people are keen to do their bit for bees. By teaming up with Fiskars, we hope that more garden enthusiasts will take up the Happy Bee Box offer, learn a little more about how they can help bees, and enjoy growing the RHS seeds that will provide plants for pollinators. What nicer way to make a difference than with beautiful bee-tastic flowers?”
