Jardinopia brings Aardman designs to Glee 2019 via exclusive global licensing deal

With a history spanning over 40 years, the instantly recognisable work of Aardman has become as synonymous for its ‘Britishness’ as a good cup of tea, discussing the weather, and strawberries and cream during Wimbledon. Now three of the studio’s most beloved characters – Wallace, Gromit, and Shaun the Sheep – are set to be immortalised in a new range of pot feet by Jardinopia as part of an exclusive global licensing deal, helping the characters to find a new home and fan base amongst a nation of gardeners.
The Jardinopia/ Aardman ranges will be officially unveiled to the market at Glee 2019, where three sets will be revealed; two showcasing Wallace & Gromit characters undertaking gardening tasks, and one for Shaun the Sheep, the perfect accompaniment to A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon - the second Shaun the Sheep feature which is set to hit UK cinemas 18th October.  2019 also marks the 30th anniversary since Wallace & Gromit first appeared on our screens in A Grand Day Out. Fast forward to today and the studio is now home to 4 Oscars® and an endlessly impressive list of awards and accolades, not forgetting a worldwide audience that continue to love and adore the work of the Bristol-based studio.
Talking about this new global licensing deal – which has been six months in the making - Jardinopia’s Tony Barnett, said: “We’ve had such a great success with our generic Potty Feet™ ranges, that we felt now was a good time to investigate the licensing route to market. Aardman was an obvious first choice for us. As a fellow South West based company, and one that has brought joy to millions of homes, we knew the fit was right. We’re excited to be working with them and hope these exclusive ranges can both help put Potty Feet™ firmly on the global map and prepare the ground for additional global licensed Potty Feet™ ranges that we will be launching in Spring 2020.”
Rob Goodchild, Head of Licensing at Aardman added: “It’s great to be working with independent, creative businesses such as Jardinopia as we look to extend our licensing programmes in the home and garden categories. We hope these products will bring a smile to the faces of Aardman fans everywhere.”
This coming together of two British brands, marks an exciting chapter for Jardinopia, who only launched to the UK market eighteen months ago. Since then the company has witnessed exponential growth and currently distributes to 14 countries offering 90 different designs under the Potty Feet™ brand. An exciting additional complimentary sister brand is set to make its debut at Glee 2019 – details of which are currently under wraps until the show.
