The Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) is to hold a one-day conference, ‘Sustainability Matters’, at Horticulture House Chilton, Didcot, Oxfordshire on Tuesday, 30th April from 9.30am – 4.30pm.
The day will explore topical issues around sustainability for the garden industry including plastics, recycling, responsible sourcing and environmental policies. Designed to help businesses on their ‘green journey’, the event will comprise a mix of presentations, panel sessions and case studies.
Confirmed speakers include Trewin Restorick, founder and CEO of the award-winning charity Hubbub UK www.hubbub.org.uk which transforms the way environmental messages are communicated by bringing people and organisations together as a ‘force for good’. Trewin will be providing inspiring examples of sustainable initiatives that delegates can recreate in their own businesses
Also, Stuart Foster, CEO of RECOUP - a cross sector membership-based charity who have been leading, delivering and informing sustainable plastic resource use and recycling in the UK since 1990, will be covering the plastic packaging recycling journey from design to re-manufacture. The presentation will consider practicalities around eco-design, collections, recycling, consumer engagement and legislation and provide examples relevant to the horticulture sector.
